Where or how can I go about getting a spare key for my boat?

The last time I had my boat in for service I mentioned this to my dealer and he came out with a bunch of keys and we tried a bunch of them until we found one that worked! I guess there really aren't that many different keys.

I think I remember hearing that ther are only 5 keys. There should be a number on the one that you have.

Any hardware store can make a copy. It is a standard key type. I had a few made, just in case! They will not be as pretty as the OEM key with the big MC on it, but they will save a weekend!

not really, security wise your ignition isn't going to do much in any case, 1 key, 5 million keys, if someone is in your boat he can take it. Would you ask if someone waved you down for a tow? Probably wouldn't think to check if he owned the boat, so if I untied your boat, floated it away for awhile, then flagged someone for a tow across the lake it'd be gone.

Or alternatively, if they can run a single wire from the battery to your coil (simple simple simple) jumper wire with two alligator clips, and a short jumper for the starter, get the coil hot, jump across the starter. Vroom... have someone with a trailer, boats gone.

Security is best to lock the boat to the trailer, trailer to truck or garage.

Or lock the boat to the lift/dock.

We made a bunch of copies last year. Had to go to an older mom and pop shop that had a manual key cutter. The newer ones that home depot had wouldn't work for us. We have a 96 Prostar.

Call your dealer. According to my dealer, there are only 4 or 5 different key patterns. have your original key in hand when you call the dealer. Give them the code on the key and they should be able to send you another MC key. My dealer had it in stock when I needed one back in Feb.
