What color was the stock PCM 351 in 1978?
The previous owner put in a new (reman) longblock last summer and must have used two donor motors for parts (pan, intake, valve covers, waterpump, etc.). I've got a mix now of black (longblock, pan and risers), red (valve cover, raw water pump) and blue (engine waterpump and intake manifold). I'd like to respray to stock appearance

I'm going to tear down and re-do the assembly from the longblock up - the P.O. apparently didn't understand the concept of torqing, or even marginally tightening fasteners... also seems to have neglected to install the upper half (block side) of the rear main seal - that explains the significant oil leak!

I think silver with black exaust manifolds, but I can be wrong.

I heard he moved up to the Upper Michigan Peninsula and traded in his clown costume for a costume with a cape.

Maybe the P.O. was just a heck of a patriot.

Everything should be silver up to the exhaust manifolds, which should be black and I THINK that motor should have gold valve covers.

I think OEM is gray with black manifolds. looks MUCH better in all black.

If you paint it all black, that oil leak will not be so noticable:D
