View Full Version : New Prop: SS or NiBrAL??????

I need to get a spare prop for my 2002 X30. I currently have the stock stainless steel 4-bladed, 14x18 OJ installed from the factory. I was wondering if I should stay with the same prop or go to a NiBrAl version? I was thinking the ACME 847, 13.5 x 17.5 four blade splined bore with a .105 cup.

Anyone have any thoughts / comments / recommendations?

I have the L-18 engine in the boat, if that maters for prop selection.

SS performs.... but I only use it when I know the lake bottom. If you hit anything with a SS prop, it'll either slice right thru it or your going to have significant damage up the line.

Just to add to that, stainless steel props are not undamageable. If you hit something hard enough, they can be damaged. Whichever way you go, just don't hit something. It really messes up your day.
