View Full Version : Replacing screws in the instrument panel

I'm working on replacing my instrument panels and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for replacing the existing screws. I have a few that have pulled the anchor out of the vinyl(?) surround. So I'm thinking I need to replace the whole mechanism and not just add washers to the existing screws.

What year? Which screws?
I had to replace the corner screws and some of the upper screws on my 94 ProSport. The corner screws had pulled through the vinyl / dashboard material and the treaded inserts in the fiberglass structure had pulled out. I slipped an automotive type spring clip with 1/4" threaded insert over the corner where the glassed in inserts pulled. Then used a SS recessed srew with SS decorative backing washer.
For the top screws I just used longer SS screws and decorative backing washers.
