My dad and I saw this chained to a tree on the side of the road a while back. After a lot of work it had its maiden voyage today. It's a 1957 Chris Craft 17 ft speeder. All original. Awesome boat!

Justin, the only thing that I object to about this boat is that it needs an AMERICAN FLAG on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a partnership. He was a skier back in the day. Since then he has retired and has a 30ft Chris Craft he spends the weekends on. He always wanted one of these to have and restore. I drove it today. There really is something about an old wooden boat. Incredible.

It has the original inline 4-cylinder with a side draft carb. Very retro!

It is not a MasterCraft, but the great thing about this site and these people is that we all appreciate great boats and yours is a true classic:worthy: :toast:

How fast does it go? Could it pull a skier? It would be great to have a retro style picture of you on a saucer in short shorts and no life belt behind that thing! If you do want a life belt get the old Titanic style belt. Maybe try to find one of those split handle ropes too. for a saucer you don't need much speed!

Keep the pics coming!

Wow... i'm really jealous... i've kept my eye out for one like that... i'm only 25 and would gladly do it myself just to be able to keep it alive and in good shape... i LOVE those old boats like that
