so I have a 1982 19 skier ford 351 holley carb. Im not sure how to tell the model of my carb (4160?) so I am having issues with the engine bogging down when ballast is full and pulling a boarder. Someone suggested putting a "wedge plate" under the carb to change the angle when under load. has anyone used one of these and where can I find one?

thanks
Jw

i would guess rebuild your carb too. could be a float getting stuck

Theres no need for a wedge plate if your float levels are set correctly.

how do you set the floats...or what are they supposed to be set to?

I have a wedge under the carb. on my S & S. It was there when I got the boat and I've never run without it. It makes sense to me but, like TRBenj said if the floats are correctly set, it should work. I've seen more without the wedge than I have seen with it.

Where can I find the correct float settings for the Holley for my 1980 Powerslot?

Thanks,
John
