Take your time. It can be a bit of a pain if it is anything like replacing one on a Tige. I helped a buddy change his out and it was a pain.

Working on mine right now on a 92 190. Let you know how it went later when I get finished. Luckily, I don't think that I have to remove the gas tank!!

Me too on my 94 190! I am having problems getting the nut off of the threaded sleeve. I might have to take it all out. I am trying to look for tips now. Plus I needed a break.

i would go with flipper's advice, grease it first. we had the same problem on our 79 and after we greased it, it returned to normal.

My cable install was a piece of cake. It has not improved the ease of turning the steering wheel by as much as I thought. It must be the bend in the steering cable under the dask that makes it a liitle more difficult to turn. One problem I have encountered is the fact that my steering wheel is off center by 90 degrees. When the rudder is straight, the steering wheel is turned 90 degrees toward a right hand turn. I can't find any adjustments but there must be some? Any help is appreciated.

Be more specific and I can try to help you out. Are you talking about the rudder end or the steering wheel end.
