Been calling auto parts stores all afternoon and no one seems to carry an isolation relay or have the borg warner/stinger parts listed in their catalogs. Closest thing I got was a guy at Napa saying that looking up the Borg Warner told him to order Napa part AR158, which is listed as some sort of relay. He didn't have more of a description so I'm not sure about pulling the trigger on that yet.

I'm in Austin, TX if anyone knows somewhere in town I can get one - or a site to order from online.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure this is the one you need. It's the part number that Diesel said in his thread....

FWIW, after purchasing the BW relay I was told by a local stereo installer that specializes in boats that it wouldn't handle the current load. He said that in a dead battery situation the relay could see up to 100 amps and the BW wouldn't handle that. He sold me a bigger relay and after comparing the two, I think he was right.

moleson10, what brand/part number relay did you buy?

Why not just use a Perko switch?

How long does it take to kill the battery? If it's three days, look at the distributor before anything else.

I live in PA and went looking for the BW 3098 in local autopart stores. Couldn't find it but in the last store I went to Advance Autoparts, I was told the 3098 was discontinued. He checked the inventory in all stores and found 2 in a store in KY. They sent it up to me!

I bought one at NAPA Auto and hooked it up. Works awesome. Don't remember exactly which one it was but i have a 92 Prostar with a Ford 351 and it only puts out like 40 amps or so, and this isolator was rated alot higher so it works awesome. Basically, just find one rated higher than what the alternator puts out and you should be good i believe. Good Luck.
