I am going to buy a 1999 Prostar 190 with Perfectpass but no stereo. How much trouble is it to install the stereo after the fact versus factory? Cost? Special cuts or requirements? What is a 1999 Prostar 190 w/ 300 hrs and perfect pass worth also? Jason

Hole sizes all depend on how big the speakers are. If you want some awesome prices on audio equipment check out www.hookedontronics.com we got the entire MC stereo system for half the price of whatit would cost to add it. Our stereo will be beinng installed by me and my dad in early may.

Not hard at all. The people on here can pretty much give you step by step instructions, advice on what to and not to get, and just about anything else you want to know. Stereo installs are pretty easy, just a matter how big and expensive you want to go.

Speaker cutouts should already be there. If you look under the gunwhales, you'll probably see some pvc tube sections for running wire as well.

My boat is a 1999 sportstar w/o perfect pass but with a cd player and 290hrs on it when I bought it and they were asking 14,500 for it. I didn't give quit that much but I looked it up and that's about how much it was worth considering the condition it was in.
