View Full Version : Is there a difference in 87 and 88-90 PS190's?

In searching for covers online, I've seen more than once that the 87 model PS 190 is listed as taking a different cover from 88-90. I thought that in areas that would affect a boat cover's fitting (windshield, hull topside, etc), 87-90 were identical? Is there some subtle difference between 87 and 88-90 that would account for there being different covers?

NO, '87, ''88, '89 and '90 were all the same thing. The only difference externally would have been, the '87 had a hinged plexiglass windshield wings for air into the cockpit that the next 3 years didn't have, but it would have made no difference when closed.

I have a 1987 red MC prototype cover that was made in April of 1986 that fits my boat perfect.

I thought the windshield on the '87 was slightly lower and it was changed on the '88-'90 models.

Our family had an 87 ProStar, as I also recall, the windshield was steeper on the 90 PS. Im not sure about the 88 or 89. They seemed to resemble the 87 more

Thanks for the input folks. So it sounds like, in a worst case scenario, if I tried to put an "88-90" cover on an 87 it might be a little big in the windshield area? I can probably live with that, given that I'd be getting the cover dirt cheap.

don't forget 89 gets the polymer insert on the pylon, try getting your cover over that ;)
