Not yet, I was going to call you when it arrived. Seems Steve sent it to me by accident when in reality it was to go to you. I don't do open or touch the package, so I'll send it to you.......

Yikes, that's a lot of ice. I made it out today for some slalom and trick runs for the first time of the year. I believe this is the latest first run of the year for at least the last 10 years here in NW Illinois.

Great to get out and be sore again. Sorry no pics, but you aren't missing much. :)

I'm jealous, everything is still frozen solid in Michigan. Seems to me a move south would be worth it to get in the water a few weeks earlier. Congrats on the first ride!

Playing ice breaker last spring... April 15th...

Aluminum boats are great ice breakers... though they are a little light..

Erk and Cbryan,

We ski the Rock River above the Sinnissippi Dam. A very wide area that isn't affected as much by high water. It's at the normal level now with a slight increase in current...and some debris but nothing too bad. Also we are blessed with a private site with slalom course and jump, but that still has some ice on it.

Erk, you should bring a new Prostar and Cbryan out this way :D :D

We had the boat out March 15th. The last of the ice had gone out the weekend before. It was only about 40 degrees and breezy. We just cruised a bit since the new fuel pump still didn't fix the stumbling whenever you go over about 2500 rpm. It was good to get back on the water though.

Erik must be nice to see open water. I am just hoping to get in a few runs before I have to go back to work from leave. Thank God we didn't get the snow storm they were forcasting for today, we were supposed to get 4-8inches of snow. Dodged that bullet.

Hey Coz -

Where'd you go? We went out to Lake Pleasant just to start the boat up and run it (and check that the fuel filter that I replaced wasn't leaking, and that the raw water intake wasn't leaking after I screwed with it, and that the propshaft packing was dripping correctly after alignment, and, well, you get the idea).

80 degrees, water temp about 65 (measured using the scientifically accurate right-toe method). We'll start skiing in a month or so when the water warms up. ;)

I don't know how these ice kings manage it.

I'm on a fishing vessle up in Alaska, we are currently breaking through about 2 feet of ice to get to the fish. Its been a cold year, 65 degree water seems pretty good to me. I won't get to use my X14 for another month and even then the water won't be 65 degrees. I guess I could use a survival suit and go sooner. Ha

Hey Frank! nice to see ya got out hope everything was ok with the drips, these guys just helped me with my water pump rear seal so that's what we were doing too, checking! and it's all good. I've kinda become a Saguaro regular since it's only 25 minutes away and I've found that if your on the water around 7am you can have great water to ride for a couple hours before the bayliners show up. Give me a shout next time you head to Pleasent I took my jetskis up there when we first moved here but I've never had my boat on that lake.
About those ice kings? yeah!!?? I guess if your raised in that enviroment you don't know any better.

Talk to ya later :D

BTW: my son says it's warm enough to do without a wet/dry suit

Well, I go to Pleasant once a year to remind of what an unpleasant place it is; Saguaro for me the rest of the year.

Yesterday was one of the nicest experiences I've had there - and there were whitecaps on the swells, and a certified zoo around the ramps. The weather and severe blue skies (and not having the children on board) made for a very relaxing day, however.

About 10'

Just stay away from the south side of the river by I-57 it goes from 10' to 1' very fast.
