Ok, I promise----I searched all 20 pages of posts matching the keyword "bimini" last night, and I'm trying to get a definitive answer for this one question before I order.

I have an 87 prostar 190, and I am trying to order a bimini from Coversearch. I basically want it to match the installed location on BriEod's boat (pictures in his gallery)----in other words, just below the window for the main leg's mounting point.

I know I need a 5 foot length, and a 36" height, but what width should I be getting---the 73 to 78 is what I'm almost positive I need, but I just want to be sure. Again, I am not trying to mount it to the windshield.

p.s. just so I don't look like a total idiot, I know I could pull out the tape measure and find this out, but I won't be near the boat for 5+ days....just hoping someone already knew this answer.

PM Suedv or Rickdv. They are having a custom bimini built as we speak, for thier '89 PS 190.... maybe they have the measurements. I am sure they are having it built for the outside of the windshield frame, just like my '96 PS190... there are a few pics in the link in my signature.

Different boat, but my windshield mounts were 73.75" apart. My beam on my 93 was 85". My bet is that the 87 was narrower, but not sure by how much. Brian has been emailing more frequently lately, but I don't know if he'd know that info off the top of his head (and he sold his boat last year).

Gotcha, and from what I recall yours mounts right to the top of the windshield. Since the fiberglass below the windshield is probably just a bit wider than the top point of your windshield, I'm guessing that the 73 to 78 range may be exactly what I need.

Yeah, but the width amidship for the 89 was only 80" to my 85". So the numbers I listed are pretty specific to the early 90s Pro Stars.

Should be 76" by my measurements. So, the 73" to 78" spacing should be fine.

Thanks a lot Harold. Sodar too---forgot to thank you earlier. I'll post my pics when I get the bimini installed, just for posterity.
