Does anyone have the actual HP and TQ numbers between the MCX and LY6? I know what MC publishes, but are there real numbers in existence?

My choice is still the MCX as it has a very proven track record of reliability and performance. I'm still not a big fan of Aluminum heads on boat engines. Any opinions? Of course there are, this is TT. :D

I had the mcx in my 2007 197, and I now have the ly6 in my 2008. I have the ly6 proped with an 13.5x15.5 on a 1.22:1 trans and it runs 49.5mph. My 2007 would run around 43 with a 1:1 and a 13x12. If top speed is what you want the LY6 is a great engine. The LY6 is very smooth with the 13.5x15.5. Mastercraft sends the LY6 1.22:1 boat with a 13x12 3 blade. That prop seems more like a 1:1 prop to me, but if you want an absolute animal you could run this prop. When you hit the gas the boat nearly comes out of the water it has so much power. I just did not like slalom skiing at 4220 rmps at 36mph. The 13.5x15.5 prop has me turning 3550 at 36mph. The LY6 hits the rev limiter at 5570 rpms and I the MCX is around 5200. My choice is the LY6 but we do everything out of my boat (slalom, trick, jump, barefoot, surf, and wakeboard) Best of luck.

What supercharger did you use on your beast? That is another item of interest for the MCX...Bomb proof bottom end with a blower...oh ya!

No supercharger just a stock LY6 1.22:1 with silent master exhaust and an acme 13.5x15.5 prop. You would void any engine warranty with add ons like blowers and superchargers plus you would have to reprogram the ecm. Who needs it with 400 hp.
