51 Pics not enough for you???:D

It all depends on the engine..ie-Hull could be in great shape but if the engine (esp. with lotsa hrs) is running poorly...get a compression test.

Mine wasn't loved at all. The previous owner was a card holding member of the more money than brains club!!!!

But, a really good price, a lot of weekends, and a few beers....back to good shape again.

I don't think your NADA is including the trailer. I don't know the hours on the boat, but I would say its worth somewhere around $17,000.00. But then again something is worth whatever someone else is willing to spend. I personally wouldn't go in the $19's for that one. FWIW:)

When I bought mine the owner wanted 19000 and eventhough after seeing the boat and was ready that second (boat was only 99hrs old) to give him what he wanted and nada was higher I knew he was motivated because it had been sitting taking up room and he had other toys to play with so I asked him if he would take 17000 cash right now and it took him all of 3 seconds to say yes, we shook, I gave him $$$ and never regreted it. So it depends on how motivated he is but I would start low then work your way up. Good luck. :D

Bought my 1997 205 last year for $18,500 with about 550 hours. It has the LT-1 and is in showroom condition with all 550 hours worth of synthetic fluids and complete service records. A number of upgrades including stereo, but no tower. Biggest question is that LT-1 - has it been well cared for and NEVER overheated? Great motor if you take care of it - big problem if you don't. Snoop around the board a bit and you will find a ton of info on the motor, including how to spot potential issues.

I'll bet there is a nicer, cleaner, better taken care of, one out there for the money! But, you have to admit, the guy is really proud of it, but he doesn't really get it! With a few $ and a little time, he could have made the boat a little more presentable to sell it, like clean up and polish out the scratches, touch-up the trailer, re-insulate the motor cover, clean up the wheels and Bearing Buddies and install bras on the Bearing Buddies, etc. Then, maybe you can talk him down on the price and do all that yourself if it runs out right and performs like you hope for.

Things I noticed while looking at pictures:

Left side trailer bunk needs new carpet,
White marks on rub rail...could be ok could be signs of hard use,
Rubber mat on swim platform looks worn,
Motor box has no insulation,
I could be wrong but theres some nasty marks around the boat buddy,
Front rub rail right on bow looks like its hit a dock....many a time,
Few Scratches.

The thing with all that I mentioned above is that it is all cosmetic. Its not going to affect your day on the water other then if you like me and have to have a spotless boat. I would say $19,000 sounds a bit expensive for this boat. The interior is prestine due to the fact it was just replaced.

So I would say if you arent worried about the scratches and if you are maybe able to reason him down a little bit it should be a good boat!
