I've had it! I might as well stick my head in an oven. $73 to fill the Tundra and $97 to fill the PS 190 = $163. F_ck me to tears. And SC has some of the cheapest gas in the nation!

I guess we all better get used to it....a fact of life right now and probably only gonna get worse......

Figure it is going to cost you $100 to fill the truck, and $150 to fill the boat everytime for the next 3 years all summer, and the price will escalate from there.
If it's anything LESS than that, be grateful. Because you lucked out and take those savings and put it away for future use because you will need it to cover the cost when it's $5.00 a gallon. And it's coming......

Yeah it is out of control at this point. Like has been said, it is probably just going to get worse. Where you from in SC?

You guys are still way behind the UK. £100 to fill the Dodge Ram and £150 to fill the boat. Convert that too $ and it equals $500!!!!!!!!!!!! per Weekend

The 6.0L diesel has been pretty much parked since diesel hit $4.09/gal. Multiply that by 44gals and it's a whopping $180 for the tow vehicle. Still too cold to boat, so I'm not feeling the full effect just yet...:o

i'm dreading it guys... i'm getting mine back from Rambo Friday or Saturday... 82mi to get it + 60mi to put all my stuff back in it + 46mi to get it to storage (and where i live now) = $50 bucks of gas in my truck and that's just to pick it up and i don't want to think about filling it up after running the first 3/4 tank of bad gas out of it

There are others at the ramp with trucks:rolleyes: . Maybe the marina has a lift?

Or leave it in the lake.....

This description is about what got me out of my Ford CC Diesel 4x4, While I miss that truck on a daily basis STILL and it's been a 1 1/2 years, leaving it sit for 5 months isn't what I wanted to do with it. So off it went. I kick myself daily for letting it go.:o

No it will not, you risk your life on a daily basis being in a honda as it is, towing with one is certain death.

I still think if everyone cuts down on the amount of fuel they use in the day to day the demand will drop enough to make the fuel costs managable.

I was thinking about how much fuel is yesterday, really the first time it has concerned me. I was looking at a $98,000 X-Star and thinking what the payments would be like and adding $400 / month in gas on top of that.

Ouch.

It costs $75 to fill up my truck and $75 to fill the boat. I only have to haul 5 miles to put in at the lake or 20 miles to put in at my place so that is really not bad.

yeah i can see where what you are saying would be true... BUT I still think that it is terrible that the government has to depend on another country so much for oil. How can these oil companies have record years and say they aren't price gouging!!!

you could probably pull from the back down the road... as for when you get to the ramp... i've got a plan... put a reciever on the front and just nose it inwhen you get there!!!... i swear i think it would work... and if you do i will drive there to see it!!!

wait until you fill up a suburban to go to the fookin' grocery store!

suburban = 38 gallon tank

in other words, $75.00 is HALF A TANK:mad:

Saw something on the news this morning about American Fuel consumption has dropped 1% over the past 3 weeks consecutive. 1% doesn't sound like a lot but that must be millions upon millions of gallons each day.
The media sure keeps telling us to get prepared for $4 a gallon this summer and going forward. You never know when to believe them but unfortunately I think they are right this time. :(

Go to the local gas station and save that dollar a gallon and put it into the boat for some blingy accessory or put it back for gas!

It's funny how everyone points the finger at the oil companies, but nobody wants to talk about how much the government is gouging you for in taxes per gallon. The fundemental difference is: the oil companies deserve the profits for the products they created...the government does not.

Pretty funny, but I have an electric oven.

Anyway, somebody mentioned the Federal gas tax. I work for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The Federal gas tax is spent on new National roads (eg. interstates), road maintenance, new bridge construction and bridge maintenance. Interstates need to be built to Federal Standards, that is why FHWA exists, to ensure that the National Highway System is maintained. Some would argue that the states could do this, but past history has shown that state politics precludes the equitable distribution of the money. Yes the gas tax is high, but needs to be higher. Our roads and bridges are falling apart and there is not enough money to replace/repair. I started this thread because I am disgusted with the price of gas too. I just wanted to explain the Federal Gas Tax.

yes we did... just got it home last week. Both our cars have V8 engines so not so friendly on gas to begin with. and with these crazy prices on gas everything is getting out of control and to make finances worse daycare keeps raising their rates as well... so not helping at all. I really need a permanent job making better money..
