Just wondering if any TMC people have installed the Wetsounds WS-420 EQ? I am seriously thinking about it to have complete control of tower, interior and sub speakers in one easy to operate unit.

Let me know your thoughts.

I'm going to be installing one in my boat next week. I'll let you know how it goes. It looks like a great unit though.

the thing looks sweet... i'm going to have to look into how mine is wired up... i wonder what you would have to do if you had all your system ran off one amp and if it would still control the volume... mine is set to control volume on the tower seperate from the boat from the fade and balance

How much rewiring if you have 10 speakers and 2 subs, I would guess quite a bit??

Cool looking little unit.

Bullit4888 -

Nice. Where did you end up buying it from? I am going to mount mine to the right of the steering wheel just below all of the accessory switches. I'm right handed and it just seems easier for me to change volume using that hand.

So I installed it this last week and it turned out great. I decided to mount it in the dash. I wanted it to look factory and not have it hanging off the bottom of the dash. After playing around with it a little I think it's great. It's one of the best things I've added to the boat

I used a roto zip and a steady hand to cut the hole.

Very clean install looks great. How hard was the wiring?? Is it from the head unit to that then to the amps??

The wiring was a little bit of a pain because the head unit and all my amps are located on the other side of the boat so I had to run 4 RCA's around the bow. One RCA goes from the front channel of the head unit to the eq. Then the other 3 RCA's go from the eq to the amps

Very nice. Too bad the Aux Input is not a pair of RCA's. iPods sound much better when connected with the dock as opposed to the headphone jack. Nonetheless, this is a sweet unit. I like the ability to control ALL of the speaker "sets" from one place. I also like the PA system. I can see that coming in real handy. Do you think that a rider will actually be able to understand you amongst the noise of the boat, water, etc?

I am contemplating installing tower speakers this Spring. If this little device is all that it appears to be, I might want to go ahead and dish out the extra funds now. That way I will only have to do the wiring only once.

Just curious, what are the dimensions of this unit? The Wetsounds website does not provide this information. I own a 2005 X-2 and I am 99% sure I do not have the space to mount this in the dash.

has anyone installed this on a current x-star? I'm curious to see how it was mounted.

Anyone heard of feedback issues with the WS-420? I just ordered mine and will be installing it next weekend.

Check out wakeworld. Supposedly ppl are getting a lot of feedback and noises they can't get rid of.

I went by Wakeworld and ran every search that I could think of and I could not find any posts regarding feedback.

Here is the WW link to the WS-420 install.

The WW search function does not work that great.

Thanks prostar205. I did a search for the exact title to that post and nothing came up. Thanks for the link.

That was a very informative post regarding this piece of equipment. But, it sounds obvious that any "noise" in a system with a 420 installed is due to the installation and not the 420 itself. Tim (Wetsounds) really went out of his way to look into this situation. I just wish that people would work a little harder at trying to troubleshoot a problem and not be so quick to just want a new unit or their money back.

I am considering one of these 420's. I think that my biggest concern is the quality of the PA function. I am not 100% sold on a PA system where the microphone is used directly under the speakers. It seems to me that would create a huge feedback issue to the point that the PA would be useless.

If you get yours installed, I/we would love to know how it turns out. If you can muster up the time, maybe throw us a little install post.

Has anyone wired into the Ignition side for the remote on. I noticed people discussed wiring into the remote on amp side.
