Got an 87 Prostar that's on the original trailer. When I initially posted pics of my boat, several of you commented on something that I was also concerned about----this trailer doesn't have the usual post that doubles as a bow stop and winch mount---the two items are separate. All along, I've been thinking somebody had done some home welding on it at some point, but I never could tell where the "post" used to be. I just now saw this similar boat for sale in the TT classifieds, and it looks just like mine. So was this the way the trailers actually came from the factory??? the 1st link is to my boat and trailer (sorry, having HTML illiteracy issues today--can't successfully embed it in my post), pic 1 is the one for sale in TT, and pic 2 is the "normal" trailer bow stop/winch mount I envision. Mine is just so unsafe, I can't imagine they would have let it out the door, but I'm guessing it was factory?

Ahhhh-thanks! The sad part is that I actually saw that post early last summer, and somehow completely forgot it over the span of 9 months. Thank you for refreshing my memory.

FYI, up thru '89 the bar was standard equipment from MasterCraft (top pic) and in '90 (bottom Pic) the Boat Buddy and the winch stand like today's boat became standard equipment.
I converted ours over to the Boat Buddy/winch stand in 1997 and if your interested in converting yours over, you can copy the PDF posted here, http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=425858&postcount=48, with the retrofit dimensions I got from MasterCraft prior to doing ours.
