Does anyone have a link to a website that sells rear view cameras with digital displays you install in your car? The wife wants one to help her see behind her in her car.

TIA!

We have one in our Yukon and love it!

Are you going to replace the head unit or are you looking to place an additional screen somewhere?

Don't think I want to replace the head unit. I also don't wont something that looks cheesy i.e. big display just glued to the dash. What did you do??

I bought a Kenwood DDX7019 to replace my stock head unit and added a Kenwood CCD-2000 camera. I also added the NAV and 8" head rest screens.

This looks pretty cool. Not sure how well it works though.

Don't think the one in that link will work for you since it replaces the rerview mirror. GMs have all of the OnStar stuff routed to the mirror. You will probably need to find one that has a screen on the visor.

03-12-2008, 06:45 PM
Yeah, all that OnStar stuff would be the deal breaker there...

I would think you could buy a screen of your choice and then buy a universal camera. Get your power for the camera off of your reverse light +, ground the camera and then run your video cable to the screen. When the car is put into reverse the camera is powered on and the video is displayed on the screen.

OK, so Semi truck drivers have been backing up 70 ft trailers succesfully for about 50 years, and you morons cant park a suburban without a camera mounted on the back end of it???

and then they wonder why this country is going down the tubes.

UMP, you've met my wife I do believe????? Dude, before we got together she totalled 3 cars in less than a year! If she wants the rear view camera she gets it for the sake of my insurance premiums! 8p

The only reason I added the rear view camera was because of my son.

I have no problem backing over your Fiat to get into a parking space!

I have an 07 GMC P/u, that I intigrated the Back up camera into the factory Nav radio. Makes life simple backing up to the trailer, one shot deal

I have one on my 2008 Nissa Armada that came with the upgraded stereo. Nice addition - it will be great when hooking up the trailer. Plus the kids think it's cool!

Serious alright. serious that innocent people are risking their life out on the road everyday with the driving impaired , like you. learn to drive Beau, and that goes for the rest of you.

If truckers can back 70 ft trailers into tight spots, you lame brains can certainly park a suburban. deal with it. WITHOUT a camera.
