I have a 2005 X10 trailer attached to a 2003 Ford F150. I The connection to the Ford is via a 7 pin circular connector. The problem I am having is the boat brakes lock up when I put the Ford in reverse. The only solution I have found is to reverse the connection. of the intermediate connection. Has anyone else encountered this problem and what can be done to fix it?

The blue wire to your master cylinder solenoid is probably not hooked up properly to the back up light wire like it is suppose to be.

I seem to remember a MC mechanic who sits on the MC service advisory board mentioning that they had a lot of problems with the reverse lockout solenoid. Might want to take a look at it as well.

I can tell you what your problem is. My truck did the same thing, it turned out being the relay that controls the brakes (under the hood) went bad.

Make sure your adapter plug is a round 7 to a flat 5 terminal plug. If using a flat 4 terminal your backup solenoid will not engage.
