Anyone know if a set of '05 tower speakers with lights are the same size as the '07 tower speakers with lights? Is there an adapter that will convert the mount from the '05 to the '07 style mount? My dealer once told me that there was a '06 to '07 mount converter but not sure about the '05. Thanks.

There is a coverter so that you can use the drop down mounts. Talk to your dealer, they could probably hook you up!

Unless you are getting them for the integrated lights, I would add 770 Hollow Points.http://www.bulletspeakers.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

Less $, loud and indestructible.

without question, there is a conversion kit. i just mounted my '05 JL speakers to my '08 tower. nothing to it, just a lot of twisting your wrist using an allen wrench. oh yeah, the conversion kits are expensive, too. my dealer quoted me a price of $82.50 per can. ouch!!

Thanks OMR. Do you know if the '05 cans are the same size as the '07s. I'm thinking of adding a set of '05 speakers to my '07 tower, but I want them to match the '07 speakers I already have.

The holes in the top of the cans are different which might drop the '05s down a little lower when using the tower adapters. If you have the additional tower braces installed I'd put the '07s on the outside and the '05's in the center which might level them all out. I'll be at the lake today and should be able to answer the length question for you. I'll bet the cans are the same length.

i'm sure the cans are the same diameter because they house the same speaker. the 05's however on an 05 tower mount directly to the tower with no ability to swivel. they can tilt however. considering the cost of the cans and the speakers and the llights if you can find a good deal on some 05's i wouldn't worry about the small differences in mounting and i would save the money. the cans look identical and are equally well made. just an issue of mounting method and additional hardware. ELR should have you some measurements later today as his boat has 07 speakers and my 08 boat has 05 speakers with the adaptors. good luck.

05' & '07 cans are the same length. Put em on & turn em up!
