Hello all, I'm Chris. I'm new to the forums. I just recently purchased my first boat, not the newest or biggest boat out there but it'll do. Anyway here's my new baby:

1972 Mastercraft Stars & Stripes

http://a906.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/8/l_86aee9514e5b7a932b3341e60557a8b9.jpg

though the boat is in good condition, there are lots of things I want to do with it. Newer gages, audio system, etc.. anyone know where I can get the gages?

AWESOME boat...look at the sticker on the WINDSHIELD and you will see that the boat came from here. AWESOME find. I always had wondered what happened to the 72. Many of you guys may remember
that boat at the Reunion at Cypress Gardens. That was Robert Karpay's boat. It always won oldest boat. He allowed his neighbor to totally refurb the boat. Motor, hull everything was refurbed when it left here. 302 Holmann Moody motor. Give me a call if you want more info
(813) 996 2297....hope it is still running

honestly man that boat is an investment at this point where as mine will not be so much for a long long time... i've been casually looking for a boat like that to keep at the lake house i'll have one day... a boat like that would be too sweet to keep in good running shape for a quick trip with the lady friend or even better to take out the the slalom course and tear up a few passes every now and then (i only get on the slalom course every now and then b/c i don't like being constantly reminded of how not good i am at it and how much alcohol impares ones ability to effectively and successfully run a slalom course)

Are you using this as a fishing boat? be sure not to mention you'll be trolling from your MC to anyone here, the last guy that said he was fishing from his MC hasn't been seen or heard from since. They found his pole but that's it. :D

what do you guys think about putting a backseat in it? I know I should probably leave it original, but a rear bench seat would make having passengers so much more comfortable.. just want your input.
