After 17 years, the one, the only, the greatest ever, Brett Favre has announced he will not return for another season.

we are we whooped um last year TWICE

A man goes to the Chicago Bear ticket office and inquires about purchasing play-off tickets. The ticket teller replies that there weren't any tickets for sale because the Bears did not make it to the play-offs.

The following day the same man goes to the Chicago Bear ticket office and inquires about purchasing Bear play-off tickets. The ticket teller politely replies that there weren't any tickets for sale because the Bears did not make it to the play-offs.

This goes on for an entire week. The man goes to the Bear ticket office
inquiring about play-off tickets and the teller says none are for sale because the Bears did not make it to the play-offs.

Another week of this goes by and the man still is asking the ticket teller about Bear play-off tickets. Finally the ticket teller in a loud voice
says, I'VE TOLD YOU FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS THERE WERE NOT ANY TICKETS AVAILABLE BECAUSE THE THE BEARS DID NOT MAKE THE PLAY-OFFS.

The man replied, 'I know.' I drive all the way from Green Bay just to hear you say that!

It is sad that a player that loves the game and has as much fun on the field as Brett is hanging it up. Watching the Packers will not be the same without Jethro back there taking the snaps!:(

Yea and Ben just $102M. He won't last as long as Brett though because the Steelers have no O line and he is in Big trouble.

22-10 record against the Bears. That's a hell of record against one team. Brett's retirement is the best offseason move the Bears will have all offseason.

One of the greatest QB's to play the game in my book. My dad is a big Green Bay fan so I'd watch farve sometimes. Its ashame to see him go but was awesome to see him play for all those years!

On the Chicago radio station WGN they're calling him "The greatest QB of all time", that's a pretty good tribute being it's a Chicago radio station!!!

Thank you Brett for all the great years of entertainment. It is really cool to have watched a HOF career from start to finish.

Quote of the night. Last night was watching the news and helping my 6 yr old son with homework. Being in WI most of the news revolved around Farve retiring. They of were talking about him never missing a game in 17 years and first my son was amazed that he was old. Then he said "well he must have missed games if he was sick". When I explaned that he never even missed one if he was sick, my son's reply was "I bet his mom is mad at him for that. Moms don't like it if you don't take it easy when you are sick"

Made me laugh:D

6 or 8 years and Brett is doing broadcasts for the NFL, no?

I'd be a little surprised. If he wanted money, he would have made $12M this year if he played. I don't think he wants to spend that much time. Maybe guest spots, but I don't think he would do a regular gig...If he does, he would be intertaining to listen to.

Could you imagine him and Madden broadcasting a game...they'd probably never talk about the game being played

Brett does not seem to be the type to be a TV host. Probably just going to kick it on the farm:confused:

At some point I would like to see him coach but alas the players of today would never be on the same page as Brett.

I bet he is going to kick back for awhile. There will be plenty of offers in the future to mull over.
