I saw those earlier today. Pretty cool. Anybody know if they're OEM?

The font sure doesn't look like OEM. And the fact that he used all caps.....

I saw that earlier on Ebay also. I inquired if he also had my color (gold) which he does not, but can make.

The font looks close to what I remember on late 70's thru at least 80. The stars look to be a little too big also.

Here is part of an 80 ad I scanned.

I've got a small decal with the old font (I think of 1993 S&S vintage). At that point, the "C" had a little star in the middle of it.

My 82 has a star in the middle of the C.

my 79 (his is a 78) are all caps. I may be wrong but I think the font is diffrent for the older years. You have many years posted. The second pic is an 83? up because of the windshield and so is the third pic. I will try to get some pics of mine toningt.

I will also say that if you get original stickers, be careful. I have an original 82 sticker on my windshield on my truck and it really didnt want to stick after 22 years of storage.

I just about bought a set last night but glad I looked on the site here at some owners boats. They just don't match up all that well.

I too am thinking about turning mine into a S & S. Seems like it adds quite a bit of appeal to the boat.

Why is MasterCraft two words in some applications and together in others?

From the old 1978 advertisement on Ski Boat Help (http://www.skiboathelp.com/download.html), it appears that the script in the late seventies was all caps. I'm not just talking about the font they have listed. The add is linked at the bottom of the page. The font is available at that site as well. If you can't find the decals from your dealer, you can use the font from that site and have a sign shop recreate it for you. Since the ebayer can supply all sorts of colors, it's not unlikely that that's all he's doing (but I could be wrong).

Cool. That ski boat help looks like another decent resource to check... Saw some familiar names on there.

Ski boat help was my source for help before I rediscovered this site last August.

I see the same boat as on ebay shown on a thread (http://www.skiboathelp.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000125.html) over on SkiboatHelp.com

I picked up a set of side decals on ebay last year for my 82. Wrong color, but I can use as a template when I need to get new ones.
I have made several stars myself. I dont remember where I got the material, but I think it was good quality contact paper. You cant tell them from the orginals.

Nice site and most of the people are helpful. It doesn't get quite the traffic as we get here, but definitely a good resource. I haven't done much posting over there since one of the Nautique owners called me and the site admin "jackass" and "idiot." I, frankly, can do without that aggravation.

The guy seems to know more about this sort of stuff than I do, which is usually a given. But reading over some of his other posts made the whole thing pretty easy to laugh off.

I am looking a a photo of my 74 S&S and the font looks to be dead-on but stars look too big. I will try to get a decent photo posted soon.

I was reading some of that stuff last week. The guy has got a serious chip on his shoulder.........or some serious ski boat envy.

I hope his day job is not sales or public relations..........

I got a big kick......reading the posts on the WOT speed as it relates to Prop pitch as it relates to the wetted surface of a given hull. They got his number! :purplaugh :

The wetted surface when Thomas handed his arse to him made me smile. I kept asking myself, "Why on earth would someone want to go 75 mph in a ski boat?"

Here is a pic of my letters and stars. If you moniter is better than mine!
Keep in mind I used smaller letters for a lower profile (it worked)

Plus, spending to much time on another site would limit your posts per day here!
