Ric

It's TRUE. The world record 197 is for sale! You have a keen eye Rodell, it hasn't been listed there more than 4 hours!

We're getting out of skiing for awhile and I cannot watch this boat sit in my garage any longer. It's like keeping a STALLION in your backyard and not letting him RUN.

In honor of Easties current avatar, "who'll buy my memories?"
Don't worry Erk, I aint going away :purplaugh and yes that is the "Stock Prop"

Get the coffee ready because I am a selling machine! You believe that?

Seriously though, it's priced right and has all the stuff I think you need!

Don't kick my tires, I will kick back:cool: This is not a fire sale. You want the best ski boat you can buy? I have one for sale.

She gets a good wax job tomorrow and a vacuum and will then be ready for sale so don't even plan to see her before then. She's like a bride, it's bad luck to see her beforehand.

Eastie can verify the wake and the statement regarding PB's with this boat.

RED mc bimini mounts ONLY to the tower base. Very rigid, Very clean, and very versatile in the sense that the bimini can ride in it's bowsleeve, out of your way and yet is still fully functional if you remove the tower. It's NICE.

You should not sell that boat RIC. Sell the kids, then the dog, but not the boat...

What's your plan in terms of getting back in the boating world? Couple years? 5 years? Silly to bail on that boat just because the hours are down a bit the last year or two. Your wife seems to smile in every pic and there is plenty of room for that domiciled rat you own...

I don't get it my friend?

Ric

I love how much you care steve. It's heartwarming.

That damn rat may not live to the end of the week if he keeps puking all over the way he did yesterday. I told the wife, maybe that's the bile that pukes up right before the death.......... She was not amused.

Steve, she's smiling cause she's looking at me in all the pics and I'm so damn pretty.

I don't have a time frame in mind, I just want someone to enjoy skiing this boat.
You interested? That cowboy caddilac of yours will tow it.

tire kickers show buying signs too. I've had a few that were looking really hard at some team boats. I think you and me are looking for a buyer who's had his fill of looking at great boats which were treated poorly. That's when our's become attractive Cam.

Someone out boat shopping on day one, will find my price high. Someone who's run around looking at a few will find mine has all the bells and whistles and is worth the asking price.

What say you?

Good to hear Ric! I imagine that it will go very soon.

I yanked mine off the market. I figured I would wait until yours sold and then have you send the line of buyers that had formed over my way! :D

To be honest, a few things happened with the boat that really angered me, so I got fed up and decided to get rid of it. Once my parents and girlfriend found out what I had done, they brought me back to my senses, called me stupid and knocked some sense into me. Hence, she is off the market and going into the dealership on Friday, to make her healthy again. :o

Ric,
Best of luck with the sale..mine was a humbling experience, in that the market around me just did not value my boat as high as it should have. it's weird. I talked to a boat salesman last week and my area is in a really hot economy, but he mentioned that the big boats like fountains etc weren't selling so well, but that our boats were still selling well. Funny thing is listing on ebay, I get messages from people living in over-mortgaged areas of the country stating "it's a buyers market". That's always fun but if that's the case I guess they need to get down to their dealer and beat them bloody on a new 07:rolleyes:

East, I did get some sort of message from ebay regarding relist credits, but I have not taken any action yet.

Ric: One of the 3000 posts may have asked this, but have you tried ebay? I was doubtful but sold my 06 X9 to a guy in Canada through eBay. Tried all the online sites for 8 months and got more hits through ebay in 2 weeks. Canadian dollar strong right now so a lot of boats are heading to the Great White North.

Sweet looking boat!

I sold my 2002 197 on eBay in the spring of 2004 after my wife found out that she was pregnant with our first child. I knew that there wouldn't be much boating/skiing happening that summer. It sold within 7 days to a nice fellow from the Chicago area and he picked it up the very next weekend. The whole process went very smoothly and there was a lot of interest. I got slightly more than my reserve price, but there were no bidding wars as I had hoped for.

Thanks Guys, I've listed this boat on ebay twice in the past 6 weeks and had lots of hits but only lowball offers and honestly nobody really serious.

I've had a few canadian lookers but I haven't had much faith since it'd be such a big deal to get this boat to Canada:confused:

Don't give up on those Canadians. My dealer sold another X9 up north as well. The current exchange rate makes it worth the trouble even thought they have to pay a pretty hefty tax to bring it across the border. Also, they are more into direct drives up there as I think wakeboarding isn't as big up there.

I've had a few canadian lookers but I haven't had much faith since it'd be such a big deal to get this boat to Canada

Hey Ric,

So that you know, it very easy to import a boat into Canada from the U.S. All any buyer has to do, is to arrive at the border with the sales slip, and they will pay what amounts to a 14% duty (in Ontario, that's the number...it can vary slightly from province to province). In about 15 minutes they will drive away from the border...done deal.

I imported my boat from Ohio into Ontario, about 5 years ago. At that time the exchange rate was 1.4 CDN dollars per US dollar, and the prices in the U.S. were still cheap compared to Canada. Now at about 1.02 there is a very big difference in US prices.:D
