Has anyone put a bazooka bass tube in their boat? How did it sound? I am considering one for my 2004 PS 197. I assume the best spot would be under the observer seat with the sub woofer facing forward. Correct me if I am wrong....... Thanks!

I have never had one in a boat, but I did have one in a wrangler. IMHO it was the pits. I didn't have a lot of options with the tiny trunk and I thought it would be great because it would be easy to remove. It was better than having nothing, but just barely.

I personally think the sub in the driver's kick panel is the way to go on a PS 197. There are a few guys on here who have done very good installs there.

I had one in my 190. It sounded good...

I actually sold it on the board, here a few months ago.

You should have a cut out in your foot well for a 10". I would go that route. Plus you save space.

I have one in my current boat that the previous owner installed. The dedicated amp for it was fried though and I'm in the process of replacing that amp, which, of course, means I'm moving amps around, replacing speakers, rewiring, and generally making a one hour project a 2 week plus project.

Hopefully, I'll know how it sounds by week's end.

I have one in my X30 (10" Marine version). Wanted something quick & easy to put in. It filled the bill and sounds decent. I'm satisfied with it.

TScott -

I have a 10" non-powered marine grade bazooka in my 2000 PS 195. I have a dedicated 600w amp delivering the power. I mounted it on the drivers side under the dash (the PS195 has the perfect spot for it), the white color matches the red/white interior of my boat. I'm not a total stereo "geek", but I personally think it sounds great especially when hangin at the sandbar. Bought mine through Crutchfield for $199.
