Hi Everyone,

Well I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and decided to be a boat owner. I have been around MC's for a long time but now I own my own. I bought a 2005 X7 with the LQ9, 2007 tower, boardracks, and bimini, tower speakers, PP, tandem axle trailer. I am super excited to get it back to Colorado! What do you guys think?

Thanks for the replies...I probably went a little big for my first boat but my thinking was to only buy once. I really can't wait to get it home.

congratulations and i hope you have many years of fun behind it. i am curious. i didn't realize that tower was out in 2005. that looks like a newer style tower, 06, 07 or 08. maybe i am wrong but my 05 xstar tower did not have that style tower. it had see-through rear legs and did not have the speaker mounting nipples already on the tower. regardless, you got yourself a killer machine. rock out.

oops, i re-read your description and saw where you addressed that issue. i guess that's why i alwasy got a "U" (for unsatisfactory) on my report card under the "pays attention" category. you'd think by now i would have improved some.

Thanks a lot everyone! I am so ready to get it home!!!

It was a MasterCraft demo and it has a new 2007 tower, bimini, and the new style board racks. I don't know the full story on it but the boat is in really good condition with only 104 hours on it. I went and looked at it in person a couple of weeks ago and it really looks good. My initial thought was "what happened to stock tower?" But you are right that tower is not what came on it.

did you get any warranty with it? just curious as to how that works with demo boats. i can't remember how it goes but i thought i heard that a demo can be sold with full factory warranty as long as it has never been titled. regardless, with only 104 hours you got yourself an essentially new boat. we averaged 140 hours per year for the first three years on our 05 xstar

Yeah I did end up getting a 2 year engine warranty on it...but the original factory warranty was expired so they couldn't extend that for me. I looked at a couple '07 TT here in state and they had more hours than this one did at three years old and they were way more expensive as well...So I am really happy with what I found in this one vs. others.

I've always wondered how those "Wakeboard Edition" direct drives are for slalom skiing? Is it the hull design that makes it more of a wakeboard boat or is it factory ballast or graphics or what? Maybe someone here can shed some light on this for me.

Ballast, graphics, and tower. The hull is the same.

The same as what? What is the non-Wakeboard Edition in that year boat?

X7 is the Prostar 197. X9 was the 209, X14 is the 214, and X5 was the 195 (which was the same hull just open bow as the previous generation 190, simple huh?:D ).

I like the color combo.

Congrats on your purchase.

I will say: That is a sweet looking boat! I would be interested to hear how the slalom ski wake is on it.

Thanks guys!!! I have skied behind an '06 197 and I can tell you it was awesome! This one should be virtually the same hull...I believe, correct me if I am wrong.

Great looking boat!!

Sure that's not an 08 tower? I didn't think the biminis were integrated until 08........

Thank You!!

I think it is an '07 at least that's what they told me at the dealer I bought it at. But I don't know for sure other than that.
