I was wondering if the collective minds of TT know how many MC boats are made each year? What about other companies??? BU/CC/SUPRA/SVFARA/MOOMBA etc....

Curious Carlos!!:D 8p :D

go to waterskimag.com the virtual test drive section has a company profile on most of the manufacturers which tells how many boats each produced in 2007

I'd be interested to see if this is available and accurate. Ordinarily that type of data from private firms is not easily obtained, pricey and/or unreliable.

A quote from the article about Penske buying MC.

"MasterCraft, located in Vonore, TN, is the world’s second largest builder (about 2300 units in 2006) of water ski and wakeboard boats, after west coast builder Malibu (2900 units in ’06). The total US market for these specialized inboard-powered boats is about 10,000 annually, with the rest of the market made up primarily of Correct Craft (1600 units), Moomba (1260 units), Supra (644 units) and Tigé (850 units)."

Those numbers are wrong as I have found out. MC does more boats then that and is in the 3000 numbers. If I remember it was close to 3500 a year. Maybe those numbers are sold units rather then built units? I do not know.
