one of the best concerts i've ever seen. back around '81 in memphis. dave davies can flat out play. i remember when they came out with you really got me. i believe dave said that you only come up with a song like that once in your life. i'm no musician but i have read that the guitar chords in you really got me changed the way rock music was played. al lday and all of the night. great song. and my favorite, celluloid heroes, oh yeah, and stop your sobbing and muswell hillbilly, too. man, i love those guys. i have all of their autographs on a peabody hotel note pad that was in our room. i keep hoping i will get an opportunity to see them again.

What was cool about that song is that guitar distortion they had at the time. There certainly weren't distortion pedals then. He slit the speaker with a razor blade to get that fuzzed out sound!! Today if you want a different sound you go plug into a pedal. Back then, you had to improvise!!
