the lake we run in has really really fine sand and at the end of last season we noticed that our heater wasn't putting out any heat, when we took the heater core out it was plugged all but solid with sand... does anyone know of a filter one could put on the water line to prevent this from happening??

Thanks in advance

Might be able to try one of these for the entire intake but I'm not sure if it would get the sand.

well simply any filter that is capable of catching that sand is going to plug VERY rapidly.

Sub-sand sized pores and the small size of the filter and its going to be plugged. Best bet would probably be to flush the heater core every few days with clean water.
