All of your help has got my wife and I really excited about restoring and using a "new" stars and stripes!

Problem - we currently own a 2003 Malibu Response LXI. It is in mint condition with less than 100 hours. If anyone is interested in a partial trade let me know.

The boat is for sale right now if you are interested as well.

Thanks
Rick

Am I posting this in the right thread? A bit new to all of this:)

Yea, that was a joke....
Look around, someone may work out a deal for you. Not sure of the value of your current boat, but you should be able to end up with a great S&S and be money ahead.

But beware, as nice as the old S&S's are, they don't like rough water.

I have owned several Malibu boats and have enjoyed them all but something about the nostalgia of a Stars and Stripes keeps pulling on me like the hit when I am way late into the 6 ball! Gotta have one, gotta work on one. Potential addiction beginning here.

I am not worried about rough water. I live on a small lake that never gets too rough. If it does get rough we don't ski anyway. Skiing and tubing with the 2 kids is the usual thing.

well u will def not be disappionted!!!! please just do not stick a tower on it!!!! plus they will do nothing but gain value over the years. a friend of mine has a 73 he bought new and paid 4k for. it is mint and worth a ton more now!!!

Putting a tower on a SS would seem akin to putting a ball cap on the statue of liberty

yep but i have seen them!!!
a guy at the lake just bought a 79 S&S and his first thing to do is yank the tower off!!!!

Rick,

Do you have your 'bu listed on-line somewhere. I have a friend who is looking for an LXi

Ha rough water......im scared the thing will crack in half in real bad water.....heck when im on the river AT IDLE and the wind is blowing good at me and there are some SMALL rollers i will get sprayed in the face with water......adds to the effect of the boat i love it! just harder to clean at the end of the day.
