So i'm thinking about trying to put some KC lights on my tower for the late night lake ride. I was wondering if anyone has attempted to already do this, and has any hints or ideas i could use. I havent looked into it much, just something that was on my mind. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I have factory docking lights on my Stars and Stripes and have had it for about 6 or 7 years. It's my first boat and on one of my first night trips out on the Sacramento Delta I thought that I'd show off my "Headlights" as we were heading back from Lost Isle. I was cool and it was great.... until the Sheriff's boat made a beeline for me to apprise me of the fact that I cannot run my lights on the open water like I was.:( I didn't get a ticket but, I learn quick and don't run my lights anymore in anything other than in a docking situation. You have a great idea but, I now know what the rules/laws in California are!

well i'm in Mississippi and the lake we go to, well lets just say that its not your 5-star resort area....i'm talkin water moccassins the size of your arm, state troopers drinking w/ us...you know, redneck stuff. so we pretty much can do what ever we want w/out much consequence. so its pretty much each man for himself kinda deal out there

sounds like a good idea, just remember you might want to upgrade your battery/charging system to accommodate that extra amperage draw on your stock battery!

If that's the case..... Light it up! Salomon is right about the battery/charging system... My "docking lights" pull pretty hard on the alternator.

yeah, i'm gonna be puttin a blue top deep cycle in the back anyway to help run my amps. so that'll be pickin me up alot

remember that just because you have a larger battery, or even a dual battery setup, you still need a way to charge it or keep it charged. always think of electricity in the form of water. you may have a huge reservior for water but if your dam can't hold the usage, what use is all that water? what i mean is, you may want to step up your factory alternator to a higher amp model. just my $.02.

Dude, I am from Arkansas and as much as I can appreciate KC's on a good 4X4 I am not sure about you putting them on a 04 X-2.

That is a lot of weight to put on your mini tower...

...Besides wouldn't you bump your head on the rear tires?:D
