No I don't own it, but I was lucky enough to be invited by Cessna to fly it for a couple hours including take offs and landings in IFR...what an awesome piece of equipment!

Thank you to the folks at Cessna, what great group of people!

In the immortal words of Ferris Buehler "If you can afford one, I highly recommend it"!

I wish...nope just a regular guy that went through private pilot, IFR and Commercial. Multi is next, then ATP...when the "boat biz" thing draws to a close I would like to go fly charter or for a regional.

I take it you have a Lear?

Oh gosh no.......I work for Lear, for almost 11 years. Started out in Wichita, KS as an assembler, then to Lead. Moved back to Dallas to our service center at DAL, 6 years as a lead mech there. Left the "floor" and now I teach Maintenance on the 45, 60, and 31 to clients that purchase the airplanes. I get to play in all the sims as well. In fact I have to check some people out in the 31 sim this evening. I have just a PPL and own a 66 C150. Used to own a 39' Aeronca Chief and got my Taildragger ticket in it. I used to run a restoration shop for Vintage birds and got time in some rather k i c k a s s planes. WACO, Stearman, YAK 52, Citabria, Bonanza, Vultee BT15 (440HP), Super Decathlon, Champ, Luscombe, etc.... If you are ever in the DFW area let me know, I'll see if I cant hook ya up with some sim time. Have a road trip to Lincoln, NE in FEB for a 2 week course I have to teach. OH JOY....Nebraska in February. I get you typed for free, regularly $1800 per hour, and you get me free Mastercraft.....even trade right!!

No Nava..ho sim here. I can get you Lear 31,45,60,60XR,CL300, or CL604. Would just be screwing around and unloggable unless you had a rated IP with ya. We just announced Tuesday we are going to build a new Lear 85. All composite! Grob Aerospace of Germany will be building the fuse. Not sure how I feel about the composite thing yet.

MYMC, my cousin built a Glassair III in his basement about 10 years ago, then he flew it in an around-the-world race (won 2nd place but the first place plane had twin engines) Ken Johnson, maybe you've heard of him? Not as exciting as jets, but he did let me fly her for about 30 seconds..........very cool at 280 mph. :D

He goes to Oshkosh every year and won some awards for it too.

21 years USAF, mostly on some sort of C-135, a few years on NATO AWACS and B-52s, a couple of staff jobs, currently Product Assurance Inspector at L3 in Greenville.

I'm just east of DFW near Rockwall, just visiting Houston to do the A&P

Once I get the A&P I'm pulling chocks and hanging up the stripes..........

Well I would be willing to bet he doesn't fly the 14 anymore! It is retired and has been for a short time now! What is he flying now? I would cut something off my body with a dull instrument for a chance to fly a fighter!!

I was flying out of Pontiac MI and taxiing in front of a Lear 55(?). Wasn't quite ready to depart yet {long XC}, so I pulled off to the side to let the Lear take off. He didn't even get to the airport boundary, and ATC says "Lear xx, MAINTAIN 5,000", LOL Nose was pushed over to level big time. Kinda fun to watch.

Probably not a 55 then. Those are tanks. 60 model has the same fuse with bigger Pratt's on it. Now that plane will get your attention QUICKLY!!!

Farmer ever stationed in Shreveport? My brother-in-law was SAC navigator on the refuelers in the 80's??? Was cool stuff there all the fencing around the planes. From what I remember back then we had planes up 24/7 loaded and just practicing.

Is there still an equivilent to SAC or is it all sub based now??
