So yesterday was my birthday, and thought it be a great way to celebrate.. Upgrade my current X-1!

Went to the Toronto boat show and worked with my Sales guy Peter at Buckeye Marine. After some negotiating and brain storming weeks previous... it was time to hammer out a deal at the show with some special promotions and interest rates from the banks. We worked out an incredible deal on a new 40th anniversary X-star. Oddly enough never thought the pricing would be soo good. Originally I was in the market for an X-2..

It's a factory order unit with late April, early May delivery.

got the following on the boat

40th Anniversary X-star
MCX
Ipod adapter
Bimini
Pair of blk annonized tower speakers upgraded with lights
Teak platform
mooring cover

Some of the things lists are standard with the 40th..unlike the normal X-star.. thus making it a great value!

I was talking with my rep last night amazing Mastercraft sales up in Toronto.. no signs of a recession.. at all..

One full day left at the show.. over 25 new Mastercraft boats sold... incredible!! Glad I was one of them!

Here are some pics for views.. p.s. I only got 2 tower speakers..

Congrats! Nice boat!
Is it possible that the price tag went down this year for us Canucks since the dollar is so high?
Did you compare price with a US dealer just for fun?
Nice birthday present!!!

Yes pricing was reduced a fair bit.. like 15%..

I compared pricing with 3 usa dealers.... (on an X-2 and X-star)

I got the same pricing as if I were to hammer out a deal in the states.. well it would even be a good deal in the states!

Congrats! Are you sure about the MCX as opposed to the LY-6? Seems like the LY-6 is where its at for such a sweet rig! :D

I've experienced the MCX with 5 guys with fly-high, 300 lead and a 600 lb sac.. boat got on plane fine..

Now why would you want to spend another $2k for the Ly-6?

keep the money for gas...

Congrats on the new X-star!

My '05 has the MCX, works well for me. I bought mine as a leftover, so had no choice on the engine. If I were to order one however and the LY6 is only $2K more, I'd go for that for sure! Just my opinion.

Congrats on the new boat!

From what I've read, though, you might be beter off with the bigger engine. With the financing, it won't change you payment enough to matter in my opinion. Sounds like you have time to think about it at least to make the decision that is right for you.

And happy birthday.

keep the money for gas... might want to read up on the MCX vs. LY6 vs. L18 debate. According to a few very knowledgeable members, you might be paying more for gas, than you would pay for the upgrade

I am sure you are anxiously awaiting summer, as am I!! :D

I read that debate... with the MCX I can also sniff the exhaust longer before I pass out!!

I think the ETX CATs are a step in the right direction for the environment.

I bought an Anniversary as well. Have a X15 last year with the LY6 and thought the motor was a little soft for it so purchased the Anniv with the 8 litre. I think you will be dissapointed with a MCX on the Xstar hull...still time to change?

I agree. I have an 08 X-star and it does fine with the MCX and the Fly High system. Not as responsive as our old 05 X2 with an MCX, but it has no problems. Plus, when the boat is not loaded and you are just cruising the lake, why spend more gas money with a larger engine.

You made a great purchase.

Congrats on your purchase! You gets your from Buckeye too?

I have first hand experience with the X-star and the MCX and that is how I base my opinion on the motor. L-18 is too much for me...

Heck Rusty Malinoski has it in his X-star.. then again he is running 6000 lbs of ballast in that thing!

Maybe we should have a 40th Anniversary GTG at Rock the Wake or something this summer?

I was at the dealership yesterday picking up my trailer for my X-star and there was a 40th annaversity x-star there and it was amazing. That is really a beautiful boat......I have the LY-6 in mine and i would never trade it for MCX which i had in my x-9.....

With a boat like that i can not imagine that anyone would be worried about a little gas!
