It didn't say what he was driving. I would bet what ever it was will stop faster from 101 MPH than 99.9% of the cars on the road. At least he wasn't DUI. I'll take 100 in my Benz over any drunken fool in a Chevy @ 50 MPH any day.

Agreed. Make no mistake about it, the higher-end Benz's and such are made for those speeds.

You may get off if you have this bumper sticker and the inside of the car smell bad!

It is very hard to say! I went to high school with a guy that got his car impounded and was arrested for reckless driving... he was going 95mph. My dad though, got a ticket going 110 mph on the way out to the lakehouse one morning at about 4am, last year. He was cited, went to court and it only cost him $178 and 8 hours in traffic school. I supposed there are several factors that can play into the outcome of the ticket (ie. Officer/Violator "relations", location of violation, age, judge, etc., etc.,)

Under the circumstances in Arizona they take you to jail for 20 miles an hour over the speed limit, YIKES! :(

100 MPH isn't as big a deal as most people make it out to be if you know how to drive. I've gone over 100 dozens of times at dragstrips and road courses. With that said, on public roads traffic starts approaching real quick at that speed so you need to know what to do. Even where theres no traffic all it takes is one person in front of you that switches lanes when you're 200 yards back that doesn't know that you're going 30+ MPH faster. Therefore, doing it on public roads just isn't smart.

You guys know how the legal system works. The party with the most $$ usually comes out on top. I don't think he has anything to worry about. Now if it were you or I the outcome would be totally different.
