Hi there,

I have a Prostar 190 with the stock 3 blade prop. I have a bit of trouble staying in the sweet spot for wakeboarding. I was wanting to try a four bade prop. I have the 1:1 velvet drive transmission.

What size and make of prop would you recommend for this?

Thats just your 190 telling you its a SKI boat

Seriously though... I think Jim is wrong reccomending a 13x13. That is the stock prop on your boat and probably what you are running now. If you are boarding a lot and adding weight you will probably want to go with something like a 13 x 11.5. Call OJ or Acme and tell them what you want and need out of your boat. They will give you the best reccomendation for your application.

I run a 13x12.75 acme cnc on my ps195 w/ 1,100lbs of ballast. It worked very well w/o higher rpm's. Most do go down on the pitch, glad i didn't. Both ACME and OJ cnc prop's are great.

Here's what Acme and OJ recommend:

Acme

If you do have the 1-1 gear I am suggesting the Acme
1609 13 L 11.5 three blade nibral 1" bore .060 cup. This propeller sells for
$439.00. The 1609 will give you the extra power for wakeboarding &
wakesurfing + good holding power + will still be able to give plenty of
speed for skiing. You will loose abound 2-3 mph on top end speed. The Acme
three blade has more blade area than the average four blade propeller. If
you were only doing wakeboarding & wakesurfing then I would suggest the Acme
913 13 L 10.5 three blade nibral 1" bore .060 cup. This propeller also sells
for $439.00. The 913 would have more hole shot but you would loose 4-5 mph
on top end speed & would turn around 300 more rpm at ski speed.

OJ:

I would suggest either our 13 X 11 LC XMP 3-blade or 12.5 X 12 LC XMP 4-blade for your application. You are welcome to try both propellers to determine which prop fits your needs better.
