Now here's a reality check!

This is too true to be very funny

The next time you hear a politician use the

word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about

whether you want the 'politicians' spending

YOUR tax money

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,

but one advertising agency did a good job of

putting that figure into some perspective in

one of its releases

A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were

living in the Stone Age

D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it. :(

too funny! Or...if you placed on a table a $1 bill each second, you'd finally finish by 2059?! Wow. If only my last name were "Gates".

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans. It is amazing what you can learn with some simple division

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?

A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of

New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you

each gets $516,528.

B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in

New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.

C. or, if you are a family of four, your family

gets $2,066,012

And I still have to 'press 1' for English :(

If Michael Jordon would take the money he now has and add it to his present yearly income (he gets paid a average of $64,000 to play a celebrity golf tournament) among other earnings, it would take 500 years for him to be as wealthy as Bill Gates.

I persoanlly enjoy taking my son to the doctor and parking next to cars twice as nice as the one I'm driving. Entering the office paying my copay that is required by my Healthcare Provider, and then watching the other families receive their handout for medications/ doctors visits and not have to pay anything. And at the same time after we have seen the doctor we are expected to have money for the two prescriptions when the medicare patients receive samples from the same doctor, when they should at least have to drive their nice vehicle around town some more and receive again their handout of free meds from the pharmacy. What a country. Make those you can pay pay out their a$$, and give handouts to those who may or may not need it, but judging by the vehicles they drive they don't need it.

I purchased my 1994 PS190 from my cousin three months ago. I went to the BMV and came out spending $900. 700 was for taxes! The taxes were paid when the boat was brand new. The previous owner paid taxes on it as well. EverytimeI look taxes are going up and a new tax is being made.

I moved to Arizona from California and in Cali you pay fees on a % of the price of the boat plus you have to pay property/luxury taxes on your boat every year. I sold my last boat before my move and bought one here in AZ and all I paid for title and yearly registration was $35.00.
Definetly one of the many great things about this state.

I agree that all the taxation is ridiculous, but what is anyone doing about it? We can all complain until we are blue in the face but it does not good without action. If we follow the letter of the Constitution we should have revolted against our government a hundred years ago. Just a thought...do something about it, stop complaining or move away.

Move away? We live in the best country and I understad that. Just because its the best dosent mean its good. Taxation is out of control. Plain and simple. This is just a vehicle to vent on.
