I am taking the swim platform brackets to be powdercoated. I also want to take the vents on the back of the boat and the back of the engine cover since the paint on them has been worn off in spots.

Any reason it would be a problem powdercoating the vents?

Thanks.

None whatsoever! I had ours powdercoated 18 years ago and they are still like new, even where the cover rides on the vents, they still have not rubbed thru.

Keep in mind, depending on the applicator, many times the coating is THICK. And if the part has a snug fit, or is recessed, it may no longer fit as it once did.
If this describes the situation your parts fall in, make mention of it to the coater, and they can mask off the areas you don't want the coating on. (It's just a matter of having them put tape over the part you don't want coated)
