I am extreemly short on garage space as most of us are and was wondering if I could get some help understanding the true lg of a 2001 190.

Here is what I have gathered:

Source: MC Website, current year
Boat: 19'8" or 236"
Boat w/platform: 21'6" or 258"
Lg w/trailer: 22'5" or 269" (is this with or without platform??)
Lg w/swing tounge: 20'7' or 247" (is this with or without platform??)

Source: Dealer measuring a 1999
Boat: 19'6" or 234"
Lg w/trailer: 22'9" or 273"
Lg no platform: 21'3" or 255" (I calculated platform to be 18")

Source: 1998 Catalog
Boat: 19'6" or 234" (add 18" for platform)
Lg w/trailer: 20'11" or 251 (I assume this is without platform so is 251+18=269")

What I would really like to understand is the following:
Lg on standard trailer with platform
Lg on standard trailer without platform
Lg on pivot trailer with platform
Lg on pivot trailer without platform

I appreciate the help, it seems to me that they (MC) could do a better job stating this info in the specs considering how critical it is for many of us.

Note: I assume that the slight variations between my different benchmarks are due to slight differences from year to year. However, I thought I would post everything I have gathered so far.

Thanks

Per the 2001 Brocure
Length = 19'8" or 236"
Add For Platform - 18.5"
Overall Length With Standard Trailer = 22'8" or 272"
Overall Length with Pivot Tongue Folded = 20'11" or 251"

The way i see it when comparing my numbers from below, the numbers with trailer above DO NOT include the platform.

I have this boat, but it's in storage. However, i did do a measurement last year and drew it in cad while looking at houses (garages) for just this reason.

Per my non perfect measurements:
(laying a tape measure under the boat while on the trailer)
Boat Only Length = 19'9" or 237" (Close)
Add For Platform - 19.5" (Close)
the boat hull extends behind the trailer by just a small amount.
With the the foldable tongue EXTENDED, add 2'10" or 34"
Unfortunately i dont have the length of my trailer with tongue folded.
but if you use the numbers above, it appears to be 21" less than the 34" above.

My 01' 190 with platform & foldable tongue EXTENDED = 290" that is a fact.

Confusing?? Sorry

Im gonna go ahead and guess that the trailer measurements dont include the platform. If you can figure out another way to make the boat 11" shorter by putting it on a trailer, Id like to see that trick.

I could give it a shot...but I'm not sure if it would float when I'm done.

Great info...

I also came to the "without the platform" conclusion using the same logic, but why MC doesn't make it perfectly clear in the specs I don't know. I have to laugh on the AutoCad Drawing .... and my wife said I was the only one who takes this kind of stuff to that level.

Thanks for all the info

Hate to agree with your wife but she is correct
An easier way " My garage is 21 feet deep. Will a 197 w/ the platform
removed and the tongue folded fit into my garage?"

Answer: Yes it will

Okay, Here is my math. I just went out to the garage and measured.

Depth of my garage where the boat is parked (back wall to door): 22'6"
Space between the back wall and the transom: 6.75"
Space between the tongue (swung away) and the garage door:11.25"

22'6"
- 1'6"
21' 0" length of the boat on the trailer w/tongue swung to side.

It would be too close to make it work, IMO. If I took the tongue off (remove the 7" bolt and nylock nut) I would gain another 1.25". My third car stall in our garage is 20' 11.5" and I didn't try to squeeze the boat in there this year. Damn builder. Oh wait, I built it myself, but before we had the boat;)

As others have already suggested -

2001 190 on a tandem trailer
without platform
252.25" folded
273" straight

What is the total width of the prostar trailer?
