Anyone driven the new LX570? I think this is going to take awhile to grow on me.....

It doesn't look like its real "off the wall"

Looks like a normal everyday import SUV to me.....

But I'm into Ford & GM trucks......

Haven't seen one in person yet, but I drove the new Land Cruiser. The new LX is supposed to be a real step up from the old one. Smart Keys, Gen 5 or 6 navigation, cameras on all 4 corners, etc. I'll post back up when they start to roll in at my work.

I like it. A little outta my price range I think.

I have not seen the LX yet. I did see the new Landcruiser and the new Sequoia though. I think my LC and LX impressions will be similar, looks great from the front, quarter and side, but the bulges in the fenders and tail lights throw me off, and all rear quarter and back views look goofy. It will probably grow on me, but so far I'm a little more fond of the LX you've got. Still, I liked how the body tucked in on the previous model, this new one has sheet metal that seems to hang long like drapes to the ground. I'm sure it handles better in every regard, it just looks like it packed on the pounds. The interior does look more modern, but there are buttons and switches every where - not the cleanest design.

The Seq I saw was the new Platinum ed. and was stickered at a whopping, rediculous $59k.d

I am sure it's a sweet ride. I like it except for the grill isn't working for me.

Seems not that different but I'm sure I would like it if I sat in one!

Inside looks quite similar.

Pretty bland under the hood, but almost twice my 225HP.

Under its dramatic new styling, the LX 570 is built on a more capable chassis and features an advanced new suspension system. With 383 horsepower, its new 5.7-liter V8 is 42-percent more powerful than the 4.7-liter V8 engine it replaces, and it is expected to achieve ULEV II certification.

I do like the big GPS.

Beefed up towing or at least the number!

Increased towing capacity to 8,500 pounds, 2,000 more than the previous model.

Not a big fan of the Lexus SUVs for a number of reasons but mostly because they are really overpriced IMO

I would suggest a Yukon or Tahoe instead, again just my:twocents:

Clearly a vehicle for someone willing to pay a premium. Amazing the prices. To each his own, but I wouldn't trade my 7 year old LX for any other SUV.

MSRP
2008 LX 570
$73,800
2008 Range Rover HSE
$77,175
2008 GL 550
$76,975

Not exactly my cup of tea either, but my brother in law was looking in to them at the local dealer and they already have 50+ pre orders and said he didn't think they would come down off MSRP for a while. I will admit, that his Land Cruiser is a nice ride, and their mid sized Lexus SUV is pretty nice as well, but paying full MSRP would be a deal breaker for me. I guess I am just too much of a cheap skate.

I did a search on the LX570 and found several with an MSRP of 84k

Thats just crazy. Where is Workin for toys when I need him here :D

I love it! A friends dad has one, and I loved towing the boat with it!! Back up camera was awesome getting the trailer on the hitch, and the you can raise it and lower it for a stiffer ride or looser ride! It is truly an awesome machine, but not worth the 85K IMO!

Steve; I was shocked at the base MSRP below as new Land Cruisers are in that range. I think your MSRP is more in line. Similar price to fully loaded X-star?
