Does anyone know if the BI curved boom will work off the 07 X2 pylon? If not, anyone need a BI boom at a good price?

You need a V-DRIVE boom. A standard boom will not work
A V-DRIVE boom is contoured and moves your boom position foward.
It does attach to the pylon.

If you need one shipped let me know. We are a BFI dealer

PS Your OLD boom should fetch $150-$200 + shipping

Jim,

Can you just get the little gizmo that attached to the pylon? I wouldn't use it for footing, just training the gnomes how to ski. Position would be "close enough"?

That PIECE attached to the pylon is a height adjustment. That can be purchased seperatly. A Boom is not just for barefooting. It is also
used as a training device for learning how to ski

what about the tower booms?

I think if I owned a wakeboat I would lean towards one of those.

I think they are probably more difficult to set up and remove, but they're not in the boat.

I realize this teaching won't be happening at any speed, but IIUC the curve in the boom is needed to keep the attached water-sports enthiasts out of the spray/wake.

looked into the one pictured above as well as the tower boom.

I am concerned about the stress the tower boom puts on the tower.

The X2 throws a lot of spray out the side where either boom would be, especially the rear boom, which seems safer for the boat. I would love to see what it looks like at barefooting speeds with that boom on. That is the only reason I have not purchased one yet. I didn't barefoot all year for that reason (and always forgot my suit when the water was smooth enough for longline.)
