I want to get my parents a digital picture frame for X-mas. I have taken about 200 negatives and photos to have them scanned and put to disc. I am having a heck of a time finding a frame.

I just want a frame, that will change photos every XX minutes... I do not need video playback, sound, slideshows or anything else. I was thinking of these two frames, does anyone have any opinions or recomendations?

Here are the two I like:

I like this 9" frame by Pandigital: http://www.pandigital.net/products/digitalframes/pan90-2.html

I have also read good things about this Kodak 10", but I think that I am paying for the name. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=9/10521/11490&pq-locale=en_US

We have looked at the Kodak for us, but I haven't done a lot of research. I will have to check out the pandigital.

First of all I congratulate you on a very thoughtful gift. Your parents will be thrilled.
A good friend of ours has been hospital bound with some serious health issues and his kids got him one of these. He loves it. I believe his is the Pandigtal. It worked great.

I too am wondering about digital picture frames. I want to buy one for my daughter. I already spent alot of money on her for christmas so I am looking for a smaller one that would be priced less than $100. Any suggestions?

I bought a Phillips last year. It rocks. You just plug your file in and let it go. It's addicting! The prices don't seem to be coming down. Best Buy had a ton of them the other day.

Try TigerDirect (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=1623&name=Digital-Photo-Frames). They seem to have a bunch of them. Great gift idea!

My wife is looking at them for her parents for Christmas. She just told me today that she has seen good reviews on the Kodak and the pandigital. It is kind of interesting that she came up with the same 2 names that you did! Maybe you've been researching the same sites!

I bought my wife the Phillips Model# 9FF2 and we love it. If you've done your research, one of the biggest problems with digital picture frames is the ease of dwonloading, transfering, etc., of photos. The Phillips is very easy and you can do it multiple ways. I.E., via the chip, directly from a digital camera, from computer. It stores about 100 high res photos too. We catch ourselves just watching the photos on a slide show all the time. It is one of the more expensive kind, around $200.

Well, ya know!

I just got some pics of Stuart's wife uploaded to the frame and damn... she is just as good looking on this thing as she was last night!

The picture on the el cheapo is better than the Kodak and it came with 256 mb versus 128 on the Kodak. Works really well with the mac too.

Touche! Nice one old man!

No, she was wearing something like "My man has a small pecker, but a big truck..." typical Hillbilly Texas sh*t...

Sodar,
would you reccomend the pandigital? If so, where did you get it from?

I got it from Costco. I would definitely recommend it. I have been playing with it all evening and it is really easy to use and has some very nice features.
