I saw this image of lighted rub rails and was curious if anyone has tried to install this on their MC yet? I have problems with my rub rails staying in tight as it is so I think they need to be replaced anyway. I am thinking about going with these new lighted ones. I saw the cost was not too steep either. I'm going to to have it done this spring at Contemporary Fiberglass (http://myswimplatform.com) (they have the color I want) for $280 unless someone knows of a less expensive way (maybe someone has done it themselves?) Or...unless I hear some horror stories about them. Please speak up if you know anything about this flashy new little add-on. Thanks.

How durable are they? What do they look like when not lit up. I think there was a guy on here before that mentioned these. It was on one of the restoration threads. I think its a unique concept.

I bet they have some Genuine Authentic Artificial Imitation plastic ones at most any craft store or grab one off the grill of a semi at a truck stop, I really don't think "Rubber Duck" will mind!! 8p

Hey Harold, know where I can get some fuzzy dice to hang on my boat mirror? Also how can I attach bobble head doll to my ski pole. ? Will the bumper stickers hold up on the transom? I am not worried about the wreath. I plan to use the red bow light as Rudolphs nose. "Won't you guide my boat tonight!" I guess it is to much to hope for jeweled exhaust flaps.

Will the bumper stickers hold up on the transom? Stick'um on and stick your head under the platform at 36mph and see!

#47of100TeamMC said he works with a guy that has a patent on the lighted rub rail. Maybe he can give you more information.

Thanks...I sent him a message, I'll see if he replies with anything interesting. Fuzzy dice or not...I'm still going with the lighted rub rails unless I hear something bad about them.
I love that time of day (30 minutes before sunset) right before the sheriff starts looking for late skiers. You have to eat a few bugs but the water is like glass and I think those rub rail lights will look incredible right at twilight.
