I'm on spring break (Miami of course) and see that I am missing out on the news and posts. Just can't seem to keep the laptop going while on the beach. Any good spring break stories out there? Gotta go...someone said something about an "artesian keg"

I taking next week off to go skiing in Snowmass, CO. Haven't been there in 8 years, but grew up skiing there. I'll be good to wax up the sticks and head down those hills again.

My older boy turns 21 on Monday, We are flying to Vegas on Sunday for a few days, with both his uncles and a bunch of other friends meeting down there. Should be a blast.

Vegas, Miami, Snowmass....you guys suck!!

Okay I will be heading to St. Maarten for 10 days at the end of the month.....

Doug,
Snowmass is probably my favorite resort in CO. All that acreage, long runs, great food and night life. In college my buddy and I ended up taking the shuttle to Aspen for an evening as it turned out we spent all of our money and had to pan handle for the toll back to Snowmass Village. Good Times.

I completely agree. It has always been my favorite. I've been really fortunate to have had the opportunity to ski some other great locales in the 8 years since I was last in the Aspen area. Since 96, I've hit Crested Butte, Tahoe, Park City, Breckenridge, and Steamboat. They're all great mountains (although I'm not a fan of how the sun hits the slopes in Crested Butte in the afternoons, but Slogard's makes up for all of that), but Snowmass feels like a home away from home for me. This will be my 29th year on skis! Can't wait! :woohoo:

My wife just got a new laptop. I picked up quite a few posts on my last ski trip while I sat in the condo, sipping coffee, and waiting for the lifts to open. I can never sleep late in the mountain. Hopefully, we'll have internet access. Fortunately, my wife has a hookup to access the net with the laptop through her cell phone.

Either way, I've got tonight set aside for watching Hot Dog The Movie to get me warmed up. Warren Miller on the plane. Snow's supposed to be very good this year.

Doesn't your wife's new PC have a DVD player? Great way to ride on the plane with a pair of noise canceling headphones.

east tx skier

Yes (and DVD burner), but I usually take my portable DVD player. I was about to rip a bunch of movies to mpeg4 so I could put them all on one dvd or on her hard drvie, but I found a $2 soft case for the dvds, so I'm taking my player, too.

Okay guys…lousy ending. She said I was callow and inappreciable. I thought, sure a little banter. I’m game. So I remarked that her annoyance had more to do with dysmenorrhea and that she should grow up…and furthermore quite living off her family’s money. Now I am staying with friends and she took the luggage (with the camera) and flew back on her MOM’s plane! I hitched a ride back with friends :(

Thanks guys. Mark, I was trying to be 'safe' with one word I used. But, she just left a message and was worried if I made it home. Ha, I will wait a while before calling her back! She is a stereotypical Italian - gets mad and then makes up. Brown graduate but otherwise a good egg. She doesn't know about this site...may have to edit later???

Hey Professor :wavey: I must of missed the first part of your story but sure sorry about how things ended. So you're callow???? Anything like shallow????? Insensitive??? Now where have I heard that?? :purplaugh

Professor
03-19-2005, 09:07 PM
I know, I know!!! I laughed about that later when I thought about it. I really did not think she was serious but ... guess I was wrong (that's not a first either).

I have learned that the 6 words you need to remember are "I am sorry, I was wrong" because it doesn't matter if you were right or wrong, if you don't want it to end, you will end up saying them.

Oh yeah, that...the I'm sorry comment. I am really going to have to do some editing on this site later. She left me a message about how sorry she was for getting upset and that she does want me to be honest...which I was - and told her that I was "sorry" for stating it in the manner that I did. All is well and she invited me to go on a 3 day weekend next week.
