I tied my personal best on Saturday. Definitely the latest in the year I have skied this well. Usually once the drysuit goes on the performance suffers. Not this year though. I skied 2 at 35off 36mph straight off the dock (started at 22) my first set. In my drysuit but the biggest challange was not the suit and really I should consider this a true PB since I skied it behind a 1989 Ski Nautique 2001. Talk about a bit of a challenge with the wake. Rock fricking hard. Kind of like hitting a square curb.

So what is the latest in the year you have skied a PB?

Dang man, that's a great pass this late with a drysuit. Didn't get my PB, but surprised myself a few weeks ago by getting into 32 off in a baggy suit. Usually just can't get the ball count in it.

Went out yesterday in <50 degree water, 50 degree air temp, about 25 mph winds. Couldn't even make a full six. Freakin' miserable. Got my 16 year old in the water, as well.

Wow, behind a 2001! Give yourself a buoy. Those are pretty sought after as wakeboard boats on a budget. I didn't know too many people still skied behind them. Congrats!

Two people in our club have them. One is an '88 one an '89. The one I skied behind this weekend is extremely good condition. He doesn't use it all that much to 'ski' behind anymore. Pulls the kids and occasionaly rides the jump skies behind it. Generally he bums pulls from everyone else. We had it in the water this weekend and not being one to turn down a pull from anything we just decided to ski it.

my dad use to have a 88 and Brian isn't joking. The wake on that thing is HUGE.

Congrats!Would have to brake the ice to try to beat you so i'll pass for this year! How cold was the water for you to use a dry suit? 70 ?;)
In those years no others skiboats wakes were close to MC.
Have you ski a TSC hull on a newer 196?
How did you handle the speed of light at 1?
Is one your off or on side?
Congrats again!!!:toast: :worthy:

Congrats again!!!:toast: :worthy: Water tempwas 62. I have skied the TSC hull. Another club member has a '97 Nautique which was the first year of that hull. Pretty nice skiing boat but I like the wake of my '97 MC better. I had a nice slow gate and actually managed to hold the pull in a good position through the wake giving me what a like to call a nice kick out to 1 ball. The turn at 1 was really good with just a small anmount of slack. I'm LFF so 1 is my onside turn. Not so great at 2 ball but I held on to get back to the wake.

That isn't even wetsuit weather for me!!! Still great skiing no matter what the water temp especially for wearing a drysuit. I ski about the same except @ 34.2Mph(not the same at all). Way to go Dude.

Congrats Brian! Thats some great skiing. I'd give yourself another ball or two considering the boat/wake you ski'd that behind.

WOW Brian. ! There is something to the late season... You've been working hard all season and hopefully have better habits and position than you did in the spring. Then there's the urgency of the end of season.. Then there's the (I'm just skiing to keep good form, no way I'll make a PB in this drysuit) mental aspect... It's definitely when I have skiid my best (no friggin 35 off though!) congrats!
