Us West Michigan show ski people had a fun time yesterday at the Grand Rapids Santa Parade. We even earned the 2007 Best Float of the Year title. Just think about it though. we had the only float that actually floats! :)

This first shot is of people hanging out before the parade.

One of the first pyramids of the parade. We kept these going the entire parade route. As soon as one came down people switched around and built another. The crowd really loved it and cheered each time one got built. It seems people get more excited at a parade than at a ski show.

This is the part of the parade route that has the most people. The TV crews and announcers are just down the road.

We only go three high because it would be too dangerous to have a really big fall on pavement, plus we have to fit under the street lights and signs.

It's like this. Nobody wants someone with shoes digging into their shoulders while climbing. Socks are too slippery and nobody who was climbing wanted to risk a fall on the pavement. It was really cold out there and the girls did get cold feet. They had fun being in the parade so they didn't mind too much.

I think they were getting toughened up for New Year's day when our ski club has its first outing of the year on the water.

I didn't think about the shoes in the boat part with your comment. :o Everyone was really careful not to step on any seats with their shoes in one of our team member's new boat. I like how his boat and truck match with red for a christmas parade.
