What kind of grease should I use to lube the rudder bearing?

This was my first crack at it. Seemed to make sense to me. Watch it be exactly what I'm not supposed to use. Steering feels loads better though.

This was what I was planning to use, I'm sure it's right, I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything else that people were using.

I think you are right on Doug, general purpose marine grease.

If you pull up the floor behind the motor box you will gian access to the bilge all the way to the stern of the boat. If you look under the gas tank you will see the rudder assembly and it has a grease nipple on it, just hook up a grease gun and give it a squirt. I have a '91 PS 190, but I'm assuming that this is the same basic layout for all of the older boats.

East_TX, are there multiple spots that need to be greased down there? How about the drive shaft bearing? I want to make srue I hit everything that needs grease while I'm down there

That's just the steering cable and rudder.

Does the steering cable have grease fittings? I didn't even take notice of it.

east tx skier,
what is the grey box with the black control knob on the front of your engine?
wondering if it's part of the perfect pass system since it looks like it's got a throttle cable going to carb.

There are 3 greasable fittings where Doug pointed out. The "drive shaft" cutlass bearing is water lubed during operation.

Okay, I understand exactly where they are now. I just didn't look very closely last night. Thanks.
