TT Admin--Can we get a category for "How To" under the maintenance sub-topic? We had it going on the old site and it had some good stuff on it. I know we have had to refer back to it a few times. I think that was one of the most beneficial resources we had. Thanks for your consideration on this matter--BriEOD

I agree, but I'll add a wrinkle. How 'bout that someone puts together a "how to" with pictures and everything, then emails it to TTAdmin, and he posts it. On the old site, the how tos would get comments all over them to the point that they were no different than any other thread. On the m board, I like how the how-tos are pretty neat and uncluttered. Just a couple of pennies.

Ditto Doug. I believe the M board has somebody (like JimN) review the how-to before it is posted.

Just an afterthought, as nice as it would be, MC probably wouldn't want the perceived liability of it all. Even with the disclaimer, it's still easier for them to not post it and not get sued when some amateur like me decides something didn't look too hard to fix on the boat. A folder might be more doable.

A how to section or do it yourself section would be much appreciated!!

I'd like a section on "How to quit your job, move south and waterski free for the rest of your life" .
If someone can help...

Step One: Walk into your boss's office playing this song (http://music.walmart.com/m/007/15/18/77/86/12/0071518778612.01.01.001.mp3) real loud.
Step Two: If I could figure this step out, I would do step one!

Andre, trying to help you out here…try college instructor and water ski advisor/coach. You teach a few classes a week for 9 months, ski with the promo/college boat including gas and you decide the schedule on the private lake. check out two locations in the Sunshine State:

Oh, weather there today is cloudy and mid-70s.

I think the University of Texas at Tyler needs a water ski team. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll let me teach with just a J.D. I think I need my masters as well. I'm going to go watch Old School and then make my decision.

MA or MS would help and sometimes the JD will suffice for specific areas such as criminal justice (fast growing depts currently). You should give it a try as an adjunct and see how you like it. Water ski teams help colleges meet Title XI.

Good to know. I may have to look into it one of these days.

that would be great to have a how too that would probably keep the thread jacking down to a minimum.

I have an older friend who retired early and spends his winters in Flordia and does handyman work for a ski school in return for free rides.

I like this thought. For the how to's it would be good to have a section like that and have one person responsible for a specific how to. Example is Dougs summarization files. Store on the HOW TO site and any updates would come from Doug. I would say no discussion on the HOW TO section, only posts of HOW to files. Hopefully over time this captures important stuff and each topic in the HOW TO has one owner.

THen Doug not MC would be liable, but we know Doug being a good lawyer would never be liable so we can all copy his I'm not liable phrase!

Again, I think it's important for the HOW TO section to only have HOW TO stuff and no comments/discussion/etc. COmments?

Agree. This is a great site with good members. Would be good to have experts in specific areas (gel-coat repair, engine maintenance, etc.) monitor the thread.

Uh, no, I don't want liability. That winterization/dewinterization article is for amusement purposes only. I'm an English major, not a mechanic. I confess. I confess. :D
