2" trailer ball covers work quite well and do come in colors, black, red, silver to name a few. I was lucky to find some at my original dealer in 1997 on a business trip, then they ordered me some the following year. I wish I knew where they got them from!

I found someone who carries the colored ones, http://www.trailerhitches.com/hitch-&-ball-covers/ball-covers/1033+1079+4294920074.cfm

Google, "colored hitch ball covers" and there are a bunch of sites!

I use these people, http://www.dempseyind.com/pages/1/index.htm for my vinyl cap and cover needs that I use on bolts, nuts, screws, etc. They will send you a small sample pack of about 25-30 pieces, but I have a salesmans name up there that knows I recommend others to them and every couple years he sends me a big "care package" of over 300 various pieces.

load them into a account like photobucket.com and then copy the IMG name and past it into the thread here.

Dock post caps...like these (scroll to bottom of page) (http://www.dhdocks.com/shop.cfm?groupid=Dock%20Accessories%20%26%20Hardwa re&catid=Hardware).

They come in 1.5", 1.17" and 2 inch diameters in multiple colors, but mostly red, white, grey, sometimes blue. On my trailer, I riveted them on, making sure to keep the rivet on a side where it wouldn't come in contact with the boat.
