I had a 1980 Ski Supreme. A lot of good memories!

WOOD. Lots of WOOD! Unless it has been stored indoors most of its life and been taken really good care of or various wood components have already been replaced I would bet she is a little soft.

On a more serious note, how hard would it be to determine what shape the underlying wood is in??? Boat looks pretty cool!!!

My first dd was an 84 ski supreme that looks alot like that one. Mine really was a good boat. If I rmemeber right, it has a pan under the motor so you can't see the stringers. $2800 bucks sounds like a fair price if its solid.

If the stringers and floor are in good shape, I'd say its a go!

TO check the stringers you should be able to put a wrench on the motor mount brackets where they attach to the stringers. Give them a couple pulls to tighten them. If the screws feel like they are stripped out inside the wood, it's a good chance the stringers are bad.

Check this out.... http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/boa/442765478.html

On Oct 7, 07 he had the boat listed for $4200

I would put money on it that they found rot and/or bad stringers and had to lower the price.

It COULD be a fire sale ("must sell, has to have the money")

That or he figures he's now past the prime selling season and wants to unload it before REAL winter sets in.....
