Stock balast + 7+ adults in the boat, and the wake is very, very good. Add a couple hundred pounds of balast to the front, and 600 or so on the floor, and it becomes outstanding. The boat really responds well to more weight.

I'm not a big fan of wakepics, as I've seen small wakes look huge in pics, and vice versa.

I am coming from a long line of Wakesetter VLX's (by comparison), and have ridden behind X-Stars and X-2's. A moderately weighted X-15 compares very well to an X-Star, imho.

I agree with jcbatt the X-15 needs more weight than the stock ballast for the wake to shape and firm up. Good news is that the wake sets up nice with the added weight and at a slower speed than a X-Star or X-45.

good info,..thanx guys.
i,ve owned a few bu,s myself. My buddy ownes a brandnew 2008 x-15 and we are curious about the wake.It sounds like it doesn,t matter wich boat we use to ride with.the x-star or x-15.
Our plan is to ride with aprox,1500-2000 i,ve been told the x-star needs a little more.We took it out once and added 1400 on top of the factory ballast plus 5 people and i tought it felt real good already.I,m thinking of adding just a little more. The LY6 had no problems at all.
How is the holeshot of a x-15 with a MCX and some serious extra weight?....reprop maybe?

ah...can,t wait till next spring.
